REEB Cycles collaborates with Bootstrap Brewing on REEB IPA

Colorado craft beer and custom bicycles collide in the new limited release REEB Rocky Mountain IPA, a new collaboration between REEB Cycles and Bootstrap Brewing.

The two Longmont-based companies joined forces to celebrate the creative intersection of bicycles and beers. The two often go hand in hand as cyclists enjoy a refreshing craft beer after a long bike ride and bike techs might sip a brew while working on bikes.

The new REEB Rocky Mountain IPA is available exclusively at the Hooptie Bike Lounge, which is a full-service bike shop and craft beer bar where REEB (beer spelled backwards) Cycles manufactures its bikes.

"I got back into the beer business for the same reason I started in the first place – because great beer brings people together. REEB IPA isn’t just a beer, it’s a ride. It’s bold, unapologetic, and built for the post-ride liquid reward,” said Dale Katechis, founder of REEB Cycles and Oskar Blues Brewery, in a statement.

So what exactly is a Rocky Mountain IPA? The Colorado-centric IPA is lighter and showcases an elaborate mix of hops, including: Simcoe, Centennial, Idaho 7, Galaxy, and Hersbrucker. It’s dry hopped with Idaho 7, Centennial and Amarillo hop varieties. The final product clocks in at 7.43% ABV. REEB IPA is tropical tasting with notes of guava and pineapple. The finish is a full-throated classic IPA pine resin vibe.

Bootstrap Brewing is in Longmont. Leslie and Steve Kaczeus started the craft brewery, known for its Insane Rush IPA and Lush Puppy Juicy IPA, in 2010. Patrons can expect to hear classic rock when the brewers are hard at work creating the next best thing.

REEB was created by Oskar Blues craft brewer Dale Katechis in 2010 and intrinsically mixes the love of beer and bikes. Last year, the REEB added the Hooptie Bike Lounge to its lineup as the first full-service bike shop in Longmont.

REEB bikes are hand-built and designed locally, similar to the craft beers. Visitors can grab the new Rocky Mountain IPA along with five rotating drafts daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bike Lounge, which offers hot dogs and happy hour specials.
