The Museum of Outdoor Art (MOA) has a mission to make art part of everyday life. With murals painted on blank walls and decorated street accessories, art seems to have seeped into the public more than ever before and it is no longer confined to fancy gallery and museum settings.

“The Family Dog Experience,” is an immersive psychedelic rock poster exhibition celebrating Denver’s late 60s. MOA hosts the exhibit, which opens June 23 at Fiddler’s Green. Tickets are available now.

MOA is a 40-year-old arts organization that recognizes the importance of aesthetic beauty in public places. It currently has more than 80 outdoor art pieces displayed in locations throughout the city of Englewood and Greenwood Village. The organization also owns and operates Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in a partnership with AEG Live. Located on the North side of the Amphitheatre is Marjorie Park, MOA’s sculpture park and primary venue of the organization that serves many purposes.

Marjorie Park exhibits more than 40 artworks from MOA’s permanent sculpture collection, in addition to hosting temporary art installations, seasonal arts related events and arts education programs. The park offers self-guided and guided art tours.

Renamed in 2015 in honor of MOA co-founder Marjorie Madden, the Park is an incredible tribute to Marjorie’s legacy. “Marjorie was a believer in making art a part of everyday life,” says Tim Vacca, Director of Programs and Communications for MOA.  “As a painter, designer and collector of fine arts, she had an eye for beauty and an affinity for nature. With an appreciation for the magic in fairy tales and fantasies, Marjorie and her husband, John W. Madden, commissioned sculptor Harry Marinsky to create the seven bronze sculptures representing the story of “Alice in Wonderland” that are showcased in Marjorie Park.”

After a major renovation to reimagine the park as an outdoor museum and events venue, Marjorie Park reopened in 2021. “Our pilot season in 2021 was a big success and we have further tweaked things to make it even better for 2022 and future years,” Vacca says. “With the pandemic in play, we are very fortunate to have this large 3-acre outdoor space that is safe and inviting to all. We have concerts in the park, movie nights, member socials, temporary art installations, a fitness series and more.”

MOA will also be relocating its headquarters from the Englewood Civic Center to a new office at Marjorie Park, solidifying the park as the organization’s primary attraction. During the summer months, the park sees thousands of guests, with many who are attending concerts at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre.

“The park is extremely unique to the region and is enjoyed by thousands during Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre concerts and MOA events,” Vacca says. “We love seeing the reaction of our guests, as if they’ve fallen down a rabbit hole. It is a magical place to experience.”
