Reward Yourself for Surviving Election Season

By Steve Graham

Is the constant barrage of election news and advertising driving you to drink? Don’t worry. We are down to the wire and we’ve got you covered.

Your local Illegal Pete’s should already be your post-event headquarters. Every Illegal Pete’s in Colorado always offers a free draft beer or house margarita if you show a ticket stub for a same-day concert or sporting event. On Tuesday, Nov. 6, it should also be your post-voting headquarters. The free drink offer also covers “I Voted” stickers. Stop in at any Illegal Pete’s all day.

Loveland Tap House is also getting election fever and offering a free beer for anyone wearing an “I Voted” sticker.

As for breweries, these supporters of democracy are among those offering specials for people who are wearing “I voted” stickers on Tuesday:

Declaration Brewing in Denver

Funkwerks in Fort Collins

Boggy Draw Brewery in Sheridan

Alpine Dog Brewing Co. in Denver

Dry Dock Brewing Co. in Aurora

Upslope Brewing Co. in Boulder

Denver Beer Co. and Cerveceria Colorado in Denver

WildEdge Brewing Collective in Cortez

So, turn in those ballots and enjoy those drinks. Remember, don’t drop a ballot in the U.S. mail at this point. There are drop-off locations all over the state.

If you exercise your right to take time off from work to vote, it’s advisable to return to work, and then collect your free beer after your work day is through.

If you know of any other establishments offering free election beers, let us know in the comments.
