GET OUT OF TOWN

By the Thirst Team

Get Out of Town is our weekly roundup of recommended events across Colorado. For more happenings, check out our events calendar.

Estes Park Wine Festival

The 10th Annual Estes Park Wine Festival comes to Bond Park in downtown Estes on Saturday and Sunday. VIP tickets are sold out, but GA ticket sales continue online through 5 p.m. Friday, and at the door if tickets don’t sell out in advance.

Tickets include a wine glass, wine tote and unlimited tastings, along with live music, food vendors and art. The event is 21+, and designated driver tickets are available at the gate for $10.

Congratulations to Kevin T, Angela G and Shirley R, who won our ticket giveaway for the festival. Subscribe to our newsletter, and you won’t miss our upcoming ticket giveaways.

Sculpture in the Park

The arts haven of Loveland hosts a pair of major arts events this weekend. Sculpture in the Park is an art show and sale at Benson Sculpture Garden, a 10-acre park that showcases 188 sculptures by world-renowned artists. The pieces are collectively worth more than $5 million. Amid the permanent installations, a wide range of other art will be for sale.

The event opens Friday with a ticketed patron party, with early and limited access to meet artists and purchase art. The festival opens to the general public on Saturday and Sunday, and tickets cost $10 per day.

Nearby North Lake Park also hosts the 58th annual Art in the Park, a free outdoor gallery and artisan market on Saturday and Sunday.

Revel in the Park

Paul Cauthen, Nikki Lane and the Band of Heathens get top billing for the new Revel in the Park music festival, coming to Rendezvous Event Center in Winter Park this weekend.

The main event is a ticketed concert on Saturday night. But there are also free concerts on Thursday and Friday nights, plus a long list of outdoor activities, including hikes, mountain bike rides, canine dock jumping contests and more.

Colorado Brazil Fest

Boulder Samba School hosts the largest Brazilian festival in Colorado Thursday through Sunday. The event opens with Brazilian Jazz Night Thursday at the Roots Music Project.

The festival continues with samba dancing, a Choro concert and a Forró dance night on Friday. Saturday brings a samba and carnival show to the Boulder Bandshell. The festival closes with a series of workshops on Sunday.

Pet fundraiser at Richman Beer Garden
The Richman Beer Garden at the Ameristar Black Hawk casino and resort hosts pet adoptions and pet-themed games from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. The event supports Friends of Charlie’s Place, a local non-profit that supports Charlie’s Place, an animal shelter for Clear Creek and Gilpin County.

And next Friday, Richman Beer Garden hosts a Thirst Colorado party. We will be there with games, music, giveaways and more from 3 to 7 p.m. Win a snowboard, an Ameristar staycation and more.

Richman also offers half-price beer and food from 3 to 5 p.m. daily.

Save the date: Aspen FilmFest

The 46th Aspen Filmfest runs  Sept. 16 to 21 at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre. The annual festival showcases filmmakers from around the world in a wide variety of genres.

As always, please send us your events and announcements. We’re happy to share them. If they don’t fit in the Get Out of Town column, we will add them to our events calendar.
