Celebrate Colorado food, drinks, wildflowers, music, rodeo and more

GET OUT OF TOWN

By the Thirst Team

Get Out of Town is our weekly roundup of recommended events across Colorado. For more happenings, check out our events calendar.

Taste of Arvada

More than 50 restaurants, breweries, distilleries and other vendors from across the Arvada and Denver metro areas will offer bites and sips during the Taste of Arvada festival on Thursday at the Apex Center in Arvada. The event also includes live performances, and attendees can choose winners of coveted prizes in several categories.

VIP tickets are sold out, but limited general admission tickets are still available.

Brewers Rendezvous

The 29th annual Colorado Brewers Rendezvous is on Saturday in Salida. The festival grew out of a gathering and annual meeting for the Colorado Brewers Guild. It is still a draw for brewers and brewery owners every year, and is an important fundraiser for the guild and for the Heart of the Rockies Chamber of Commerce.

General Admission tickets cost $60, and include unlimited beer samples, live music and more. VIP tickets cost $120 and include early entry, lunch, a private VIP tent and more.

Crested Butte Wildflower Festival

Two major summer festivals begin this week in Crested Butte. The 10-day Crested Butte Wildflower Festival starts Friday, and includes more than 150 workshops, guided hikes and events through Sunday, July 20. Topics include wildflower painting, pollination, photography and culinary arts.

Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival

The Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival opens Sunday, and also runs through Sunday, July 20. Chefs, winemakers and food lovers will converge at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte for tastings, dinners, seminars and hands-on experiences.

Tickets are available for individual events, and several free bar takeovers and other events also are taking place.

Bobstock Music Festival

Fort Morgan hosts the free Bobstock Music Festival Friday and Saturday in Glenn Miller Park. Uncle Kracker headlines on Friday night. Molly Hatchet and April Wine play the main stage on Saturday. Local acts will play on four other stages. The event also includes a beer garden, food trucks, kids’ activities and more.

Sky-Hi Stampede

The Sky-Hi Stampede returns to Monte Vista Thursday through Sunday. The event claims the title of Colorado’s oldest professional rodeo, and was founded in 1919.

In addition to amateur and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association events, the weekend brings a chuckwagon dinner, live music, a parade, carnival rides and more.

Save the date: Front Range Wine Festival

The Front Range Wine Festival is in Windsor on Saturday, Aug. 16. General admission tickets include a commemorative wine glass and unlimited tastings of more than 300 varietals offered by more than 35 Colorado Wineries. VIP tickets also are available, with catered food and a wine bar.

Meet Team Thirst at Colorado Craft Walk and the Richman Beer Garden

Finally, we hope to meet our readers and fellow enthusiastic Coloradans for the Colorado Craft Walk from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Denver’s Dairy Block. We also will set up shop on Friday, Aug. 15, for happy hour and live music at the new Richman Beer Garden at Ameristar Black Hawk.

We will be at both events with magazines, merch and a giveaway.

As always, please send us your events and announcements. We’re happy to share them. If they don’t fit in the Get Out of Town column, we will add them to our events calendar.
