Ride to End Alzheimer’s comes to Fort Collins on Sunday

June 5, 2025 Steve Graham

Riders set off on the 2024 Ride to End Alz.

Fundraising walks are set for later this summer and fall across Colorado

By Tiffany Thompson

Alzheimer’s is tough on everyone, whether you’re a victim, a caregiver, or the loved one of somebody who suffers from the disease. While it can be difficult to find a bright side, there is hope to be found in the many people participating in this year's Ride to End Alz: A group bicycle ride that donates 100 percent of the proceeds fundraised by participants to Alzheimer’s research.

The Ride to End Alz will take place on June 8, beginning and ending at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. The scenic ride offers multiple levels of difficulty for the different skill levels of the participants, ranging from a short bicycle ride of 23 miles for beginners to a long 75-mile ride for the more experienced cyclists.

It’s not too late to join The Ride as a cyclist; however, participants must fulfill a $500 minimum fundraising cost to join in.

For those who are not cyclists but would still like to donate their time to the event, volunteer opportunities are still open for various duties. To register to volunteer for the event, click here.

Beyond this weekend’s Ride, the Colorado Alzheimer’s group needs volunteers throughout the year to continue its research.

“With support groups, education programs, awareness opportunities, advocacy initiatives, fundraising events and more, we have volunteer options for you at the Colorado Chapter,” according to the Alzheimer’s website. “Our work is only possible with the help and support of volunteers.”

If the June 8 Ride to End Alz is too short notice, check out the multiple Walk to End Alzheimer’s events taking place in different Colorado towns later this summer and early fall. Click on any of the links below for details about each event.
