Spirit Hound to host LA wildfire benefit concerts

January 23, 2025 Paul Johnson

René Moffatt will perform at the Spirit Hound benefit concert.

Distillery will have shows at both taprooms on Feb. 1

By the Thirst Team

The folks at Spirit Hound Distillers really love dogs. Everywhere. So they are hosting concerts to aid dogs affected and displaced by the wildfires ravaging the Los Angeles area.

The distillery will host benefit concerts at their Denver and Lyons tasting rooms on Saturday, Feb. 1. A full night of local music at each venue will raise funds for the Pasadena Humane Society.

“We want to bring a community of like minded individuals in to share in music and have an avenue to give,” Denver tasting room manager Maggie Kappes said. “We want to raise hopes and spirits and do some good along the way.”

She said a distillery staffer is from the affected area, and that everyone can empathize with displaced Californians.

“Colorado is no stranger to wildfires or natural disasters in general,” Kappes said. “...It's impossible to sit and watch and not want to help.”

And the charity was an easy choice for a distillery named Spirit Hound.

“Animals (dogs especially) are in everything that we love,” Kappes said. “We built a company around outwardly sharing our favorite traits of our best furry friends. It seemed like a natural partnership for us to give to the Pasadena Humane Society. The work that they are doing is truly incredible.”

All the musicians donated their time, and have performed at Spirit Hound before.

Attendees are asked to contribute what they can for the donation-based event. The Pasadena Humane Society has provided care for over 400 animals affected by the recent wildfires. Click here to donate online.
