10 Colorado-made kombuchas for every palate

Options abound for fermented tea with various reported health benefits

Kombucha is a fermented tea that is believed to have various health benefits, including improving digestion. Both non-alcoholic and alcoholic kombuchas are available with a wide variety of ingredients and flavors. Keeping it local, the following is a list of 10 craft kombuchas made in Colorado. 

MOR Kombucha
MOR Kombucha’s flavors include Pineapple Peach, Ginger Grapefruit, Mojito, Hazy Cactus and more. Their products are available for delivery on tap for homes and offices. MOR is available in cans. You can find MOR at Odell Brewing Co., Great Divide Brewing and other restaurants and stores.

Cliffhouse Kombucha
Made in Jamestown, Cliffhouse Kombucha is produced in small batches and available in glass bottles. Lemongrass, Green Tea with mint and turmeric, Hibiscus, Ginger Peach, Mango Passionfruit and Orange Raspberry are a handful of options. A list of stores and restaurants where you can find it is available on the website.

Knuckle Puck Brewing
Knuckle Puck in Mead makes in-house kombucha, such as raspberry lemon. The brewery is also making a variety of beers, such as Lights Out Black Double IPA and Peppermint Milk Stout. Both can be enjoyed in their tap room.

Mortal Kombucha
Boulder-based Mortal Kombucha is made from Rocky Mountain water, sustainably-sourced green and black tea and organic fruits. Both traditional and hard kombucha with alcohol are available. Some flavors include ginger and lemon, mint and watermelon and lime margarita.

3rd Bird Kombucha
3rd Bird Kombucha starts with a base of green and black tea, then it’s flavored with organic herbs and fruit. Flavors include Pineapple Hops, Pear Lavender, Blackberry Sage and Strawberry Basil. Subscriptions and delivery are available online.

Life’s a Buch
Life’s a Buch is based in Fort Collins and offers a variety of flavors, such as Barrel-Aged Apple Cider, Wine-Aged Berry Lemonade and Oak-Aged Pumpkin Pie. You can find the kombucha at Natural Grocers, WeldWerks Brewing and other Northern Colorado locations.

Trubucha
Trubucha is a family-owned business located in Lone Tree. You can enjoy the kombucha by visiting their tap room or at other locations such as Lone Tree Brewing, Prost Brewing Company and New Terrain Brewing Company.

Springs Culture
Springs Culture is based in Colorado Springs, with flavors including Cherry Chai, Spicy Ginger Root and Spicy Watermelon with jalapeno and cayenne pepper. You can find Springs Culture at various Colorado Springs locations, including Battle Mountain Brewing, The Brass Tap and more.

Rowdy Mermaid
Rowdy Mermaid’s Kombucha includes both caffeine and caffeine-free options with flavors like Alpine Lavender, Lunar Berry and Savory Peach. Also available is Good Mood Soda made with ashwagandha. Rowdy Mermaid can be found at King Soopers, Natural Grocers, Whole Foods, Target and more.

On the Fence Kombucha 
On the Fence Kombucha is a boutique kombucha brewery that makes the non-alcoholic probiotic variety. Signature and seasonal flavors include hibiscus and ginger Hippie Chick, strawberries and elderflower Redhead Crush and Mango Tango with jalapeno and lime.
