St. Patrick’s parties and more on tap across Colorado

March 13, 2024 Steve Graham

Boulder Social hosts a St. Patrick’s puppy parade and costume contest on Saturday.

This week’s best events on the craft drinks scene

By The Thirst Team

St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, and Denver claims the largest parade of the green west of the Mississippi, and there are all kinds of other celebrations all over the state. Start your planning with our list of great Irish pubs across the state (but outside of Denver city limits).

And read on for a few choice celebrations, plus plenty of other fun on the craft drinks scene across Colorado this week.

Anniversary in Arvada
Talnua Distillery in Arvada celebrates its fifth anniversary (and the Irish holiday) on Friday and Saturday, with a limited-edition whiskey release, as well as specialty cocktails, and pipe and drum bands. The 2024 Olde Saint’s Keep Whiskey is available only in the distillery starting Friday. The 2023 edition won “Best American Pot Still Whiskey” at this year’s World Whiskies Awards.

At the event visitors can acquire their bottle of Olde Saint’s Keep whiskey while enjoying live music, food truck fare, pipe and drum bands, and specialty cocktails. Visit talnua.com for more information.

Puppy parade in Boulder
Boulder Social hosts a St. Patrick’s puppy parade and costume contest on Saturday. Check-in starts at 11 a.m., and the parade starts at 1 p.m. at the restaurant and taproom. A $10 donation per dog is requested, and goes to Farfel's Farm & Rescue in Boulder. Irish fare and beer specials also are available.

Anniversary in Colorado Springs
Red Swing Brewhouse in Colorado Springs hosts its third anniversary party at noon Saturday, with live music, raffles and food trucks.

Crawfish boil in Highlands Ranch
Living the Dream Brewing in Highlands Ranch will host a crawfish boil from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday for St. Patrick’s Day (hmmm, there are potatoes involved, maybe that’s the connection?). Magic Kebob also will be on hand Sunday afternoon if you’re more into land critters. Also at the taproom, rescue puppy yoga starts at 10 a.m. Sunday, and a plant therapy pop-up runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Anniversary in Florence
All weekend, Florence Brewing Company will mark the first anniversary of its community events space, The Other Side. Friday brings “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”-themed trivia. On Saturday, Mark’s Midnight Carnival Show plays “Colorado rock” from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday means food and drink specials, and drinking games in the taproom.

Make terrariums in Colorado Springs
Goat Patch Brewing and Saturday Side Hustle in Colorado Springs host a workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Make an enchanted and lucky goat patch nature scene with rainbows, pots-o-gold, mushrooms, moss, crystals, flowers and a little goat. Tickets include all necessary materials, professional packaging, instruction as needed, and assistance as requested. All participants also get $1 off pints during the class.

As always, please send us your events and announcements. We’re happy to share them. And enjoy your Colorado craft libations responsibly.
