Craft Drinks Scene Roundup Jan. 10-17

January 10, 2024 Steve Graham

Grass It Up will perform on Tuesday at Goat Patch Brewing in Colorado Springs.

By The Thirst Team

Porter party
River North Brewery in Denver will tap nine porters for its first Porter-Palooza from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday at both taprooms. Reserve free tickets to get a free taster and a branded coozie.

Diebolt Chili Cook-off
It will be really cold this weekend, so warm up with some chili at Diebolt Brewing Co. in north Denver on Saturday afternoon. Entry is free, and all styles are welcome. Bring your chili to the brewery by 2 p.m., and pay $10 to taste and judge all the entries.

Kokopelli anniversary
Westminster’s Kokopelli Beer Co. is turning 10 and celebrating all week with live music, new merch, a VIP party, trivia, bingo and more.

Outer Range anniversary
Frisco’s Outer Range Brewing celebrates its seventh anniversary on Saturday, with new beers, music, tattoos, flash-painted apparel, custom cocktails and more. Grass Sticks will be on hand to make custom bamboo ski poles on site.

Parry’s pizza day
Parry’s Pizzeria will celebrate its 17th birthday next Tuesday with specials, swag and giveaways.

(Un) Social Meetup
At 4 p.m. Saturday, Grandma’s House Brewery in Denver hosts a social meetup with a twist. This event is designed for introverts and socially anxious folks to make new friends. The guidelines are a little complicated but pretty smart for the shy crowd.

Meadowgrass lineup announcement
On Tuesday, Jan. 16, Goat Patch Brewing in Colorado Springs will host Rocky Mountain Highway for a special edition of its weekly Bleating Heart Night, with live music from Grass It Up. The non-profit group will announce headliners and open ticket sales for the 2024 MeadowGrass festival.

From 5 to 9 p.m. $1 from each pint goes to the organization, which hosts three southern Colorado music festivals each year.

Goat Patch Brewing also hosts a deaf social from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, and is rebranding its blonde ale this year to mark the 150th anniversary of Colorado College.

Yoga and mimosas
Carlson Vineyards in Palisade hosts a yoga and mimosas event at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $38 per person, including guided yoga, a mimosa and light snacks.

Save the date
Finally, the Children’s Museum of Denver will host its Joy on Tap beer festival on Thursday, Feb. 22. For those of us who never quite outgrew playing with toys, it’s a great chance to check out all the museum’s interactive exhibits without kids getting in the way.

As always, please send us your events and announcements. We’re happy to share them. And enjoy your Colorado craft libations responsibly.
