Craft Drinks Scene Roundup March 8-14

By The Thirst Team

Here’s what’s happening this week at some of our favorite Colorado craft libations spots.

International Women’s Day rum release

Industry leader Karen Hoskin is the founder and owner of Montanya Distillers in Crested Butte. Her team is celebrating International Women’s Day today with the release of the new Montanya Fuerza (Spanish for strength), an overproof rum aged for four years and finished in an Uncle Nearest whiskey barrel. Colorado artist Amethyst McDowell created the label artwork for the limited-edition rum available at the Montanya tasting room starting today. A portion of proceeds go to Melanin Mountain Project, a grassroots organization in the Gunnison Valley. Click here for more on Montanya and their mission to be a “force for good.”

Conservation Wild celebration

Release of the week

Dry Land Distillers has just released Barrel Zero, its first whiskey completely made and bottled at the new headquarters in downtown Longmont, after originally dividing the business between a Broomfield still and a tiny Longmont building space. It is a single-grain malted heirloom wheat whiskey aged in a lightly charred American oak barrel. Bottle sales began this week, and it is only available for pickup at the tasting room.

As always, please send us your events and announcements. We’re happy to share them. And enjoy your Colorado craft libations responsibly.
