Adults can take over the museum and play while sampling local brews

Grownups can spend an evening drinking and playing with the many interactive exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus – no child necessary.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, the Children’s Museum hosts its annual craft beer fundraiser, Joy on Tap. This 21-plus event is an opportunity for adults to release their inner child, experience the Children’s Museum in a whole new way, and enjoy some local craft beer and food at the same time.

Tickets cost $45, and all indoor exhibits are open for adults to play and be a kid again. Typically, adults are not allowed to explore the museum without a child in tow.

The event started in 2018, and raises money for the museum’s educational programming, innovative exhibits and access initiatives.

Kylie Gorder, marketing and communications coordinator at the Museum, provided more insight on what to expect from the event.

“This event allows us to share the wonder and joy of the Museum with a new audience and encourages adults to unleash their inner child,” she said. “Guests can race to the top of the Altitude Climber, make a clay masterpiece in The Art Studio, see who can blow the biggest bubble and launch rockets into space.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample drinks from more than 15 local craft breweries, as well as food from some of Denver’s finest caterers, all while supporting a local non-profit in the process.

The proceeds from this event go toward funding the Museum’s many exhibits and outreach initiatives, which help attract Colorado youth for fun learning experiences. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event lasts until 10 p.m. Click here for more details.
