By The Thirst Team

New Year’s Eve events

  • Spangalang Brewery in Denver hosts a New Year’s Eve concert at 8 p.m. with saxophonist Tony Exum Jr. There will also be a buffet from Pineapple Express and a champagne toast. General admission costs $25, and all-you-can-drink speakeasy passes cost $75.

  • Rule 105 Brewing in Greeley starts celebrating at 11 a.m. with football on the TVs, and a $5 all-you-can-eat taco bar. The Danny Derail Band will perform from 8 to 11 p.m., and then the brewery hosts a beer toast at midnight.

  • Continental Divide Winery will host a party starting at 7 p.m. at their Breckenridge barrel room, with live music, charcuterie and desserts.

  • Gnebriated Gnome Distilling in Fort Collins hosts a pirate murder mystery party from noon to midnight. Dressing up is encouraged but not required.

  • Rockygrass Band Contest winners Pick & Howl will perform live at New Terrain Brewing in Golden from 6 to 9 p.m. for a New Year’s Eve pre-party.

  • Sparge Brewing in Wellington hosts a party from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., with appetizers, dancing, balloon drop and more.

  • Adrift Tiki Bar on Broadway in Denver hosts fire performers, tiki drinks, luau dancers, a Polynesian feast and more.

Moving party

Living the Dream Brewing is busy this week. On Friday, a new taproom opens in the Sterling Ranch Community Center. And all weekend, the brewery says farewell to its original location in Littleton. Before the brewery moves to a larger location in Highlands Ranch, celebrate with food trucks, a photobooth and giveaways from Friday through Sunday.

Wine blending lesson

Carlson Vineyards in Grand Junction hosts the “End With a Blend” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Two-person teams will learn to blend wine, then compete for the best wine blend.

Phish streaming party

From Thursday through Sunday, Over Yonder Brewing in Golden will stream all four nights of the annual Phish residency at Madison Square Garden. The Sunday night get-together also includes live music from Sqwerv before the Phish show and during set breaks, as well as food, crafts and bodywork massages.

Winery anniversary party

Aspen Peak Cellars turns 15 next month, and it will celebrate with two events on Saturday. An open house and wine tasting runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Conifer Ranch. The event center was the first home of Aspen Peak, when it was the Clifton House Inn. Tickets cost $15 each, and reservations are required.

Back at the current Bailey locations, Pat Travis hosts a music marathon with other local musicians from noon to 7 p.m., with a special food menu. Reservations are recommended.

Spots also are filling for January’s Snowshoe & Fondue events, a guided snowshoe hike with wine tasting, Swiss cheese fondue and live music.

Gas Pops giveaway

Finally, we have a pair of tickets to give away to the Gasoline Lollipops show on New Year’s Eve at the Fox Theatre in Boulder. Just send me an email with “Gas Pops” in the subject line to be entered to win.

As always, please send us your events and announcements. We’re happy to share them. And enjoy your Colorado craft libations responsibly.
