The silly season is well underway, and our local libations crafters are serious about holiday fun and Repeal Day celebrations.

Call to Arms extravaganza

Northwest Denver’s Call to Arms Brewing Co. is bringing “big holiday energy” all month long, starting with "Baby it's Drag Inside,” a holiday-themed drag show with host Talia Tucker on Saturday, The brewery also is bringing a rescue puppy holiday movie night, a holiday market, ugly sweater party, Krampus Party, pictures with Santa and a Santa gathering where patrons dressed as Santa get $2 off their first beer (and if 50 Santas attend, CtA will donate $500 to the Make-a-Wish Foundation). 

Something Brewery Anniversary 

Brighton’s Something Brewery celebrates its 7th anniversary all weekend, starting at noon Friday. The brewers are bringing back old favorites, tapping barrel-aged beers and offering anniversary glasses and merch. Tappings include a birthday cake blonde, Fruity Pebbles sour, bourbon barrel-aged wee heavy and two Russian imperial stouts.

Old 121 Winter Artisan Market

If you haven’t crossed off everyone on your nice list, local artists and vendors will sell unique holiday gifts from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Old 121 Brewhouse in Lakewood.

Holiday Shakedown Street Market

Golden’s Over Yonder Brewing Co. also hosts local artists and will pour delicious craft beer during a holiday market from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Raices Holiday Market

West Denver’s Raices Brewing also hosts a holiday market focused on local Latino artisans from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Denver Beer Tree Farm

Get your holiday beer and your Christmas tree all in one place starting at noon Sunday at all three Denver Beer Co. taprooms. For $75, pick a 5- to 6-foot Christmas tree, receive two specialty holiday beers, and decorate a DBC ornament. The event also includes a specialty holiday menu, live entertainment and more. 

DBC also has a holiday paint and sip event on Friday, and a beer-and-cookie pairing event on Sunday, Dec. 11.

Ironton’s Yuletide Spirits

Bundle up in ski gear and celebrate winter at Ironton Distillery in Denver from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy live holiday music, cocktails and Christmas breakfast foods all day while picking a live 4-foot Christmas tree; joining a 1 p.m. snow yoga session; creating a Shotski with Crafty Chassis; shopping from a local mini-market; and decorating holiday sugar cookies. 

Snowflake Whiskey Festival

Stranahan’s in Denver brings back its annual Snowflake Whiskey Festival on Friday and Saturday, after a two-year break. Friday brings live music, food trucks and whiskey. Some fans even camp onsite Friday night to be there Saturday for breakfast and coffee trucks, and the release of Snowflake Batch #25, which is likely to sell out quickly. 

21st Amendment Day Bar Crawl

Monday marks the 89th anniversary of the end of Prohibition, and boozy anniversary toasts are happening all over the state this week. 

Edgewater's Main Street bars will turn into mini speakeasies and serve Prohibition-style beer and cocktails from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Participants include Edgewater Beer Garden, Edgewater Inn, Joyride Brewing, Providence at 5280, Sloan's Bar & Grill and The Electric Cure. Visit them all and enter to win prizes. 

Oxford Hotel repeal day celebration

The Cruise Room, the iconic martini bar at the Oxford Hotel opened on the day Prohibition ended in 1933. The bar will celebrate both anniversaries on Monday. Get two classic cocktails for $19.33, and enjoy live music from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. 

Walter’s Prohibition Festival

Walter’s Brewery in Pueblo hosts a Prohibition Gatsby Party on Saturday. Dress in period costumes and get down. The Tommy Gun Imperial Stout also will be released.
