The Rendezvous Event Center at Hideaway Park in Winter Park is evolving as a great place to soak up some music in the ever-growing town. And a top-notch festival is just around the corner.

The Grand County Blues Society presents the 18th Annual Blues From The Top "Day Of Blues 2021" on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Some big names will be in town for the show, including Sugaray Rayford, Eric Gales, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ruthie Foster and A.J. Fullerton.

Expect to hear hits like “Somehow, Somewhere, Someway” and “Blue on Black” from Shepherd. Foster, who hails from Austin, released “Live at the Paramount” last year, which showcases her talent in front of a live, enthusiastic crowd.

The little park in the middle of Winter Park has become a destination for small, intimate, outdoor shows that attendees love.

This festival launched in 2003, and it has grown ever since.

“It has evolved into a true blues and roots music event, providing a welcoming atmosphere for people from every walk of life,” according to organizers. “Our volunteers and ski-town community create a utopia of great music and a great vibe for festival attendees.”

Organizers invite attendees to come up early in the week to check out a free concert at the Rendezvous Event Center on Thursday, Aug. 12.

The non-profit Grand County Blues Society was created in 2002 “to enhance the cultural existence of Grand County residents and to be a beacon for our friends and visitors that love escaping to the shadow of the Continental Divide.”

The Blues Society has produced 18 blues festivals and more than 265 blues shows, which all support its programs to help children. The Society raises funds for Children’s Hospitals, as well as kids’ school programs that enhance the musical training and experience of youngsters.

Tickets for the Blues From The Top Day of Blues are $75 for the VIP experience and $55-$65, plus fees, for general admission seats in the park.
