Seven years of brewing award-winning beers deserves a celebration, and that is just what Liquid Mechanics Brewing in Lafayette plans to host. On Aug. 20 and 21, the brewery will have its 7th Anniversary Bash, including more than 20 draft beers, live music and food trucks.

Starting Friday at 1 p.m. and running till 11 p.m., Liquid Mechanics will offer special release beers, along with some re-releases of past favorites. Among the draft specials will be the Orange Chocolate Milk Stout, Tangerine Glow, Key Lime Dough Boiz and Peach Hop Nectar.

Friday will also bring the release of new packaged beers, Purveyor of Mayhem and Candy Bar Anarchy Project. Both beers are aged in bourbon barrels, with the latter packing candy bar flavors of peanut, chocolate, nougat and salted caramel.

There will be a $15 cover charge (includes first beer) starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and the party will turn to 21+ after 8 p.m. on both days. On Saturday, the event will start at 12 p.m. and be free all day long, with beer lovers and the local community encouraged to head down and enjoy the festivities.

Seven bands will play throughout the two-day celebration. Tribute bands Van Cruelen, Guerilla Radio and Seeing Stars are playing alongside Dayshaper, Ultralowfi, Rogue 2, and Logan Green of Flash Mountain Flood, who all play original tunes.

For food, Grey Duck Eats and the Maine Event will be offered Friday, while Crescent City Connection and On the Hook Fish and Chips will be Saturday’s choices.

Outside of brewing a variety of beers for people to enjoy, Liquid Mechanics frequently participates in philanthropic activities across the state and is always looking to give back to the community. This latest celebration is the brewery’s way of saying thank you to all those who have supported their dedication to craft beer over the years and will continue to do so.
