Exercise Your Independence All Over Colorado

By Natasha Lovato

No matter where you find yourself on the Fourth of July, the Centennial State will provide an explosion of colors and entertainment. Stay in touch with the websites below to find out about fire bans and other restrictions for the long holiday weekend. These Colorado towns can’t wait to celebrate our independence in their own way, and fireworks are currently planned in all locations.

Pueblo

Beat the heat at Pueblo’s Wet Parade getting sprayed down by water cannons and squirt guns as floats pass by. And when things dry off and the sun goes down, let the fireworks begin.

Monument and Palmer Lake

Fourth of July in the Tri-Lakes area is full of fun with a morning fun run, parade, street fair, beer garden and live music in downtown Monument followed by an evening of Fireworks in Palmer Lake.

Wellington

Start off the day of fun with a pancake breakfast, a parade through the town and vendors, food and drinks. Bounce houses and a car show will provide entertainment for all ages before sparklers ignite the night sky.

Bayfield

The day in this southwest Colorado town is filled with a parade, music, food, kid’s activities, vendors, a beer tent and corn hole tournament. What more would you want?

Fort Collins

FoCo brings an impressive music lineup followed by an equally impressive fireworks display at City Park come dusk.

Estes Park

If you don’t spend the day paddle boarding and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, you can certainly spend it at the Estes Park Fairgrounds enjoying music, food, local craft beer and the big-bang over Lake Estes.

Crested Butte

Crested Butte features a patriotic celebration full of music, food, races and a fireworks show to cap it all off.

Buena Vista

Pancakes, a parade, a 5K, art displays, kid’s games and live music will provide a spectacular experience alongside a spectacular view.

Beaver Creek

Bounce houses, slides, crafts, face paintings and games will be part of the daytime fun for the kids. Also, a concert lineup will fill the air with sweet Colorado sounds.

Lake City

The Lake City parade kicks off with an Air Force flyover followed by foot races, sack races, a shoe kick, 3-on-3 basketball, bingo, egg toss, a Fat Tire bike raffle, food, beer and margarita booths.

Silverton

The day begins with a fun run, water fight and parade, followed by an all day festival and block party. Look for a Ducky Derby, a Velcro wall and more before the fireworks light up the sky.
