Patrons are Enjoying 300 Suns Brewing Kitchen

By Natasha Lovato

The intimate relationship between food and beer has long stood as a sacred bond for humankind. Recognizing the need to bring delicious food into the brewery, 300 Suns Brewing recently debuted a partnership with Scratch Kitchen and patrons love it.

“We just really wanted to be the kind of place where people could enjoy hanging out with their friends, laughing and having good conversation, with a craft beer in their hand,” 300 Suns co-owner Jean Ditslear said. “Good food seemed both an important aspect of that as well as the responsible thing to do.”

Five years ago, 300 Suns opened with no kitchen. The brewery added a limited menu in 2016, and finally partnered with Scratch owner Nate Say to open a full-scale kitchen and expanded event space this year.

In addition, 300 Suns bolstered its local craft beverage menu to include Slalom Fox Cocktails, Kure’s Craft Beverage Co. Colorado Mules, Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water, along with continuing to carry ciders from Wild Cider, St. Vrain Cidery and The Old Mine. Enjoy any of 300 Sun’s 18 beers on tap alongside the Scratch menu that includes poutine and pulled pork chimichurri grilled cheese, as well as gluten free and vegan options.

Ditslear said the menu will grow and change with the seasons and as pairing inspirations arise.

“Nate really wanted to offer a Nashville hot chicken sandwich as a great complement to hoppier IPAs, as well as a loaded mac and cheese, which is the perfect richness to pair with our popular Rabbit Mountain Red Ale or Fortunate Squirrel Nut Brown,” she said.

The relationship between both businesses allows each to focus on its strengths — 300 Suns on beer and Scratch on food. Ditslear already sees the customer benefits from the synergy of collaboration.

“The partnership has furthered 300 Sun’s original vision to be a community-oriented, craft focused, hyper-local experience,” she said.
