Celebrate Memorial Day weekend with Veteran-Owned Establishments

May 25, 2018 Guest User

There is no better time than the present to honor those who have served the United States and paid with their lives.

On Monday, May 28, a host of Colorado Springs-based breweries will donate $1 from every pint sold to Angels of America’s Fallen, a nonprofit organization which concentrates on donating resources to children of our fallen military and first responders. While all these breweries aren't necessarily owned by vets, they have agreed to donate a portion of their beer sales to Angels of America’s Fallen.

Participating breweries include:

  • Bristol Brewing

  • Brass Brewing Co. (Note, Brass Brewing will be closed on Monday but will be donating $1 for every pint sold on Sunday, May 27, instead of May 28.)

  • Cerberus Brewing Co.

  • Dueces Wild Brewery

  • Goat Patch Brewing Company

  • Red Leg Brewing Company

  • Ute Pass Brewing Company

  • Peaks N Pines Brewing Company

  • Smiling Toad Brewery

Establishments operated by veterans will also acknowledge Memorial Day.

3 Hundred Days Distilling

Owned by retired Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician Mike Girard, 3 Hundred Days Distilling is celebrating Memorial Day with special cocktails in its Monument tasting room. The distillery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the colder months, but Memorial Day weekend is the first Monday and Tuesday 3 Hundred Days will be open for the summer.

3 Hundred Days will also have a booth all weekend at the MeadowGrass Music Festival in Monument.

In addition to donating $1 from every pint sold to Angels of America’s Fallen, Red Leg will also tap a donation-based keg of specialty beer in the taproom at noon on Monday, where all donations from the keg will go to the nonprofit.

Vail Brewing Co.

Any vet or active military personnel will get their first beer for free at Vail Brewing Co. on Monday. This mountain brewery offers everything from a trendy Blueberry Hipstershake IPA to a smooth, classic-style Recovery Pils.

Veteran Brothers Brewing Co.

Located in Johnstown, Veteran Brothers Brewing Co. is celebrating Memorial Day with a cornhole tournament in its beer garden on Monday. Veteran Brothers is another spot that’s usually closed on Mondays, but will open its doors in honor of Memorial Day.

Dueces Wild Brewery

Dueces will also be donating $1 from every pint sold to Angels of America’s Fallen on Monday. On Saturday night, country/rock/blues infusion singer/songwriter Whiskey Kate will put on a show in the Deuces taproom.
