Copper Kettle’s Sixth Birthday Bash

By Dylan Hochstedler

Copper Kettle Brewing Co.Choloca and a smorgasbord of Denver food trucks are teaming up for a weekend-long party that you’ll want to attend.

The bash kicks off Friday, April 21, with Copper Kettle’s Annual Staff Brew Showdown. Members of their bar staff team up with members of their brew crew in order to create beers exclusively for this competition.

Prepare your taste buds for a Passionfruit Berlinerweiss, Rye Schwarzbier Black Lager, Cilantro Lime Kolsch and Prickly Pear Gose. After sampling each brew, the crowd determines which beer Copper Kettle will brew in a full-sized batch.

Friday will feature live music from The Dollhouse Thieves and food from Pavy’s Food Truck and Tony Guacamole.

Sour Barrel Saturday will be the theme for day two of the party. Pucker up and get ready for five one-of-a-kind sour ales, including Chocolate Pomegranate Sour Ale, Dark Spiced Sour aged on Malbec and Oak, Golden Oaked Sour Ale, Raspberry Golden Sour Ale and Apricot Golden Sour Ale.

Also included in the lineup for Saturday will be giveaways, food from Skadi’s and The Wing Wagon Grill followed by dessert from Pink Zebra Cupcakes, accompanied by live music from The Acoustic Mining Company.

Join them for Sunday brunch as they celebrate two new additions to their sought-after Snowed In Series. This go round, Copper Kettle brewed Maple Snowed in and Maple Chocolate Snowed In.

The Maple Chocolate Snowed In features liquid cacao from Cholaca, a Boulder company whose pure, 100 percent cacao helps save and support the rainforest. Cholaca will also be collaborating with Kush’s Mile High Munchies to serve a mouthwatering brunch menu of chocolate goodies that pair with this ale.

After brunch, Grassroots Grill will be serving lunch and dinner until Copper Kettle closes.

Join them for any or all three days of fun. However, Snowed In will be available on draft only starting Sunday for brunch.
