Top 5 ways to #OptBeer on Black Friday – and a Saturday bonus

Everyone plans to take a stand on Black Friday, either in a long line at Wal-Mart or outdoors with their REI-loving friends. However, an alternative has presented itself. Discounted beers, special releases and merch are up for grabs on November 25 as breweries and liquor stores plan some fun of their own.

Below are five spots that allow you to avoid the shopping madness while supporting the local craft scene. #OptBeer

1.  Station 26 Black Friday Event - Station 26 is becoming a Black Friday staple, holding their annual release of the Dark Star Imperial Stout. This highly sought after beer will be released in bombers and on draft in 11 different variations like Salted Caramel and Strawberry Balsamic. This year’s Dark Star is aged in a mix of bourbon barrels for 10 months and features an ABV more than 13%. Vendors Doppios Coffeeand Smokestack 70 also will be on site serving up the masses.

2.  Black (Shirt) Friday Beer Brunch - Black Shirt Brewery is holding a beer brunch so shake off your food coma and roll over to RiNo. Featuring brunch cocktails, Long I Pies, 25% off merch and a release of the Four Track Porter, it’s sure to be a good time at BSB. Four Track Porter has complex milk chocolate, toffee and caramel notes.

3.  Copper Kettle Vintage Barrel-Aged Bomber Release - Copper Kettle is providing a great way to try some barrel-aged beer without having to age it yourself. Tapping into their cellar, Copper Kettle plans to release Snowed In Coffee Stout, Well Bred English Strong Ale, Charlies Golden Strong Ale and Le Chapeau Impérial Saison, all from previous years.

4.  Mr. B’s Wine and Spirits - The downtown craft bastion will be sprinkling the shelves with rare beer and whiskey throughout the week. In addition, Mr. B’s has a top-notch load of craft beer and spirits available, including a fresh collaboration beer with TRVE. 5.  Black Friday at Parry’s Pizza - Parry’s Pizza Northglenn is pulling kegs of stellar beers out of their cellar. Bourbon County 2014, Even More Jesus and BORIS the Crusher are a few of the highly sought after beers that will be tapped.

6.  Can't make it out this Black Friday? No problem. Dry Dock will be releasing their line-up of holiday brews on Saturday. Cranberry Tart, Chocolate Cherry Covered Porter, and Eggnog Cream Ale will be available on Saturday, November 26.
