Too Cool for School?

Craft Beer Summer School Begins June 6

By Natasha Lovato

School is in session and yes, there will be beer. Starting at 7 p.m. this Thursday, June 6, Craft Beer Summer School students will visit a new brewery every week and gain in-depth knowledge of the science and methodology taught by the masters themselves. Sign up for one track, or sign up for all three. Either way, these are classes you won’t want to skip.

Join 12 of Denver's breweries on a journey into the depths of brewing, where each brewery has something insightful to teach their protégés.

Learn the science of brewing ingredients with CO-Brew, explore the wide world of adjuncts with The Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project, delve into IPAs and hops with Alpine Dog Brewing Company, dig into sour and mixed culture fermentation with Baere Brewing Company and take a European tour of Germany and Belgium at Bierstadt Lagerhaus and Bruz Beers. The world tour will continue with Spice Trade Brewing to learn about exotic ingredients, a pit stop in China with Jade Mountain Brewing Company and through the varied landscapes of Latin America with Dos LucesJagged Mountain Craft Brewery and Woods Boss Brewing will take your beer knowledge to the next level and you can get schooled by the sage-like wisdom of Burns Family Artisan Ales to top it all off.

“This is an incredible opportunity for beer-loving Denverites to visit a new craft brewery every week and gain in-depth knowledge of the science and methodology of what they do best,” said Andrew Moore, head brewer at Intrepid Sojourner. “We’re so excited to be a part of a group of such high-caliber breweries as interested in education and quality craft beer as we are.”

Summer School is broken into three tracks for ultimate flexibility. Each track is $199 for four weeks, which equals over eight hours of instruction with the best of the best. Sign up for one, two, or become a beer master by taking all three tracks.

Track 1: Technical Brewing with CO-Brew, Burns Family, Woods Boss and Alpine Dog.

July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1:
