Cerveceria Colorado among excellent list of Cinco de Mayo Extravaganzas

By The Thirst Colorado Team

Cerveceria Colorado will blow open the doors on May 5 with at least eight new beers, each with a Mexican spin.

Cerveceria, a spinoff of Denver Beer Co., will launch on Cinco de Mayo at 1635 Platte St., in Denver. Co-owner Diana Crawford said the plan is to have fun with new brews that run the gamut, from light and refreshing to a fairly complex stout.

While hanging out in Mexico in recent years, DBC head brewer Jason Buehler befriended some others brewers and the ideas began to fall into place. “I have been fortunate enough to travel throughout Mexico and brew with some of the country’s innovators in craft brewing,” Buehler said on DBC’s blog. “These brewers create excellent craft beer using fresh, local ingredients and have been kind enough to teach me about the different flavor profiles and unique characteristics of traditional Mexican spices and plants.”

Some of the eight featured beers include:

  • Senor Pina, 5.1% ABV, a blonde ale with pineapple
  • Poblano Pils, 4.9% ABV, a Mexican lager aged on poblano peppers
  • Cocolimon, 5.2% ABV, a kettle sour collab with Cerveceria de Colima in Colima, Mexico
  • Churro Stout, 6% ABV, a milk stout made with churros, cinnamon and vanilla
  • CoCo, 5% ABV, a hopped up chocolate pale ale

The brewery will host charity happy hours in upcoming weeks with a variety of agencies benefitting.
