Westbound & Down Brewing Company and Denver’s Hops & Pie share more than just an ampersand in their name – they have collaborated on a number of beers, including their newest one that will be released on Dec. 8: F Me Twice.
Friends Westbound & Down head brewer Jake Gardner and Hops & Pie owner Drew Watson first started their collaborations after a conversation where they discussed the positive flavors of the New England-style IPA without the murkiness and drama. Hence, their first collaboration: You're Screwed If You Do and Screwed If You Don't.
On the two Colorado institutions’ continued journey exploring the space between good and evil, right and wrong, and West Coast and East Coast IPA, comes F Me Twice, a hop walloping Double IPA that toes the line at 8.8% ABV. Melon fruit, mango, papaya and juice galore, but fully fermented, clear, and with respectable bitterness from the use of foolish quantities (10.85 pounds per barrel) of Mosaic, Citra, Galaxy, Amarillo, Enigma, and Centennial.
The beer will be released at both locations on Dec. 8, though Idaho Springs-based Westbound & Down will be naming it a more family-friendly name, QDH Double IPA.
