Join us in the Bristol Pub for the annual release of Old No. 23 Barley Wine, AND Barrel Aged Old No. 23 Barley Wine!
Thursday, November 10 • 5:30 pm
For many years we've toasted in memory of our friends and former employees Ralph and Chandler Bruning with this award-winning, special occasion beer. But this year we're bringing out something special in addition to our regular barley wine: We've been aging some of our 2015 batch of Old No. 23 in bourbon barrels for the past year, and it is ready to rock. It'll be available in four packs with special waxed bottles, so get yours while it lasts! (And thanks for the barrels, Veteran's Liquor!)
Grab a free tasting of the beer before long time Bristol superchick Lynne Blesener leads the group toast at 5:30. Then enjoy Old No. 23 paired with a bite of blue cheese--scrumptious!
We'll also have live music on hand from 5:30-7:30 with the band jason and jason. Join us!
About the beer:
An annual Bristol tradition, Old No. 23 revives an English farmhouse brewery practice of making a complex ale to set aside for special occasions. Our version, while painstaking and time-consuming to brew, rewards the connoisseur with an ale that has the depth and complexity of a good brandy or single malt scotch. Massive quantities of malt and hops, a long aging time and limited availability make this a special ale worthy of its reputation.
2010 winner of the Silver in the Barley Wine-style Ale category at the Great American Beer Festival®.
