West Flanders Brewing Co.
It was 2012 when business partners and brothers Mark and Chris Heinritz and brewmaster Brian Lutz put their minds together and opened West Flanders Brewing Company on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder.
The onsite brewers craft a variety of Belgian beers. The brewery offers a solid lineup of pilsners, IPA, a milk stout, strong scotch ale and a variety of saisons, sourced from local products.
Chef Anthony Hessel chooses locally sourced foods to enhance the restaurant’s menu, and the flavors are meant to complement the beer produced at West Flanders.
With an eye toward community involvement, West Flanders collaborates with local homebrewers and each year, a homebrew contest is held and the winning recipe is then brewed in house. “We love Belgian beer because of the country’s propensity for having a massive diversity of unique beers,” says Lutz. “We honor that tradition of experimentation and desire to make one-of-a-kind, often single-batch, off-the-wall beers that our customers will find provocative, yet tasty.”
In addition to a Broncos happy hour, the brewery also offers happy hour pricing whenever the temperature drops below 20 degrees.
