The Post Brewery
The Post Brewing Company in Lafayette was once home to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1771. When the Big Red F Restaurant Group purchased the building and announced that they would be opening a brewery, they decided to name it The Post in order to pay homage to the building’s history.
Bryan Selders is the man in charge of the brewhouse at The Post. You might recognize him from the Discovery Channel’s show Brewmasters, which featured Dogfish Head Brewery, where Selders previously brewed. He has been a partner with The Post since it opened in 2013 and he is in charge of brewing the Achtertuin Seizon, a beer that won gold in the 2016 Great American Beer Festival under the Classic Saison category.
Aside from serving world-class beer, The Post also operates as a finger-lickin’ fried chicken joint that serves anything from a 12-piece bucket to a plate of delectable chicken and waffles. They do a special each night for dinner that features items such as a chicken potpie, prime rib or other entrees, depending on the night of the week.
In October 2016, The Post hosted its first annual Townie Fest, to benefit the Lafayette Chamber. Plans are already under way for 2017. Expect to experience great fun for the whole family, including live music, sack races and face painting. The event will continue to be held at The Post and in the surrounding streets in the fall.
