New Year’s Eve on Colorado’s food scene

By the Thirst Team

Every Wednesday, we bring you the best craft libations events in Colorado. But we also love our state’s great foodie scene. So here’s a little New Year’s Eve lagniappe: A bevy of events off the craft libations scene that caught our eyes.

Union Station’s Orient Express soiree

Plenty of trains depart Denver’s Union Station, but not the Orient Express, until Saturday. A variety of glamorous events inspired by the world’s most iconic train are running all night in the Great Hall at Denver Union Station. Overnight stays at the Crawford Hotel are also available. Click here for all the details.

Night of Revelry in Aspen

If you really want to extravagantly kiss off 2022, the W Aspen hotel hosts A Night of Revelry, with a Bunny Blake performance, world-renowned aerialists, stilt walkers, contortionists, fire performers, and more. A $495 ticket covers an open deluxe bar, bites from 8 to 10 pm, and a Moet toast at midnight. The new Ponyboy nightclub is also open, with DJ Ria Bird and DJ Lord Fascinator spinning tunes. Hotel guests get discounted tickets.

Spanish rooftop party

Boulder’s Corrida chophouse hosts a rooftop extravagancia, starting with a $150 5-course tasting menu from chef Samuel McCandless, followed by dancing with a DJ and electric violinist Michaela Borth, and a champagne toast at midnight. Skip dinner and get a $20 GA pass to the dancefloor and toast, including one cocktail.

OAK chef John Bissell

Oslo comes to Boulder

Also in Boulder, OAK at Fourteenth celebrates with a Scandinavian menu. Chef John Bissell’s recent Norway trip inspired a 5-course menu focused on foraged ramps, lingonberry, and huckleberry; fermented gooseberry, lamb pancetta, beet juice, soured milk, and celery root; and game, such as pheasant and venison.

Perdida Kitchen NYE party

The Washington Park restaurant Perdida Kitchen offers a $100 four-course menu, along with ice luge drinks, a special champagne menu, and the iconic “shot-o-pus.” The Mexican-inspired menu includes scallops with chimichurri, lime and pepitas; seared southwest sea bass; sweet potato enchiladas and more.

Paris comes to Denver

Le Bilboquet, a French restaurant in Denver offers a prix fixe menu including scallop tartar and Beetroot; homemade foie gras terrine; seared turbot; and roasted venison tenderloin. The first seating, from 5 to 7:45 p.m.. costs $135 per person. The second, from 8 to midnight, costs $195 per person. See the full menu here
