If you like to try craft beer and you also love helping the community, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver has the event for you. Hops for Homes is the kickoff event for Habitat’s House That Beer Built, a house that will be built by 21 Colorado breweries.

The proceeds from the event, broken up in to two sessions to accommodate the number of people, will go toward the HTBB project. Each session will include limited-release beers, a giveaway by The Brew Hut, food trucks, a DJ and games, including corn hole. The beers include Dry Dock’s new IPA, Resolute Brewing’s debut of Vienna Lager and Great Divide’s seasonal Roadie Grapefruit Radler.

The Brew Hut will be giving away a home brewing kit and a home tap system to two lucky people. There will also be a House That Beer Built Passport named the Brewery Blueprint available for $10. The passport includes beer discounts from all 21of the participating breweries. And look for the 2-inche x 4-inch lumber signing. These 2x4s will be used to help build a house in Sheridan. To get more involved, HTBB is also accepting volunteers for the specific brewery build days, where you can swing a hammer, paint or provide some other kind of help. Contact your favorite brewery for details on volunteering.

Hops for Homes will take place at Great Divide Saturday, April 22 at Great Divide’s Barrel Bar, 1812 35th St. in Denver. Sessions are from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. for general admission. VIP and general admission tickets are available at:
