Anthony Martuscello had long planned to open a brewery along Denver’s iconic West Colfax Avenue, and he knew finding a prime location would not be easy. After a lengthy hunt, Martuscello stumbled upon a location in the Lamar Station Plaza, formerly known as the JCRS Shopping Center, and best known as the center anchored by Casa Bonita. Finding the perfect name also proved to be a challenge because of the proliferation of breweries across the United States, but he eventually settled on WestFax.
Martuscello, who once worked in the corporate world, moved to Colorado about six years ago and had whetted his appetite for craft beer while living in Pennsylvania. Although he has home brewed, he brought on head brewer Alex Stansbury to carry the load. Stansbury previously brewed at Tommyknocker Brewery in Idaho Springs.
