Wayne “The Train” Hancock

  • Big B's Orchards 39126 Colorado 133 Hotchkiss, CO, 81419 United States (map)

Since his stunning debut, Thunderstorms and Neon Signs in 1995, Wayne “The Train” Hancock has been the undisputed king of Juke Joint Swing–that alchemist’s dream of honky-tonk, western swing, blues, Texas rockabilly and big band. Always an anomaly among his country music peers, Wayne’s uncompromising interpretation of the music he loves is in fact what defines him: steeped in traditional but never “retro;” bare bones but bone shaking; hardcore but with a swing. Like the comfortable crackle of a Wurlitzer 45 jukebox, Wayne is the embodiment of genuine, house rocking, hillbilly boogie.

Friday Nights Live offers a free concert series on 25 Friday nights from late April through early October. These events are a collaboration with Pickin Productions, and each concert supports a local non-profit organization.

There is a $10 parking fee for all day parking vehicles. 100 percent of the parking fee is donated to a local non-profit organization being featured that week.

There is a FREE SHUTTLE from Paonia for every Friday Night show.  The shuttle begins downtown Paonia at 6pm and runs every 20 minutes.  The last shuttle back to Paonia is after the final song of the evening is played.
