"A Golden Soprano"

The New York Times

Echoes of the Ages explores themes and variations for lute and soprano in the glorious and rare sound world of The TANK.

The dynamic duo Soprano Jolle Greenleaf and Lutenist Hank Heijinkwill share Renaissance and early Baroque music especially composed in its day to highlight echoes in their most immediate form.

The two will play with each phrase in stylistic slow motion, allowing the TANK to respond. The gentle nature of the lute's sound - an instrument especially dear to Renaissance royalty - will reverberate as never before.

What will this ancient music sound like in such an resonant environment? Exquisite, soul-stirring, a peak experience.

Come and hear these acclaimed artists as they present music by Henry Purcell, John Dowland, Hildegarde von Bingen, Johannes Hieronymus Kapsberger, and Giacomo Carissimi, along with their own creations, in collaboration with The Tank itself.
