Beers and dogs have long gone hand in hand. But what’s better than a place that lets you enjoy a craft brew with your furry friend at your side? How about one that connected you with your best friend in the first place.
Parry’s Pizzeria & Bar will host its fourth and final scheduled dog adoption event for the year at their Highlands Ranch location this Sunday, Aug. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is a collaboration between Parry’s, DMK Homing, a local no-kill rescue and shelter, and Alaskan Brewing Co. So far, the series of events has connected four families with their new best friend, while several other people have joined a wait list for a specific type of dog.
“Parry’s is a locally owned company and will never forget that our roots are in the communities around us and that dogs are a part of our larger Colorado community,” said Katie Nierling, purveyor of happiness at Parry’s Pizzeria & Bar. “Finding a forever home for a pup makes those families that come into Parry’s complete and we are grateful to be a part of that connection.”
Participants not ready to commit to a new member of the family can support the shelter by enjoying a crisp Husky IPA. A portion of the proceeds will go to DMK Homing’s mission to find homes for rescued pups.
If you can’t make it this weekend, don’t worry. There will be opportunities in the future to enjoy a fresh brew while picking out your future best friend.
“Our goal moving forward is to do four dog adoptions a year,” Nierling says.
