While much of the country suffers through a bomb cyclone, Denver will enjoy a zephyr tomorrow — but not the gentle, warm wind type of zephyr. It’s more of a pale ale type of zephyr.

On Friday, Jan. 5, Zephyr Brewing Company hosts a grand re-opening at its new Globeville location. The new site is about the same size as the old River North neighborhood brewery — about 2,000 square feet, but the production area is larger and the taproom is smaller.

“The new space provides the space and logistics to grow production and eventually enter the canning and bottling market,” said co-owner and head brewer Brian Wood.

Zephyr opened in RiNo two and a half years ago. Wood said the old location had a spacious taproom but a cramped brewing space and not enough room for shipping and distribution equipment.

Wood looks forward to a more intimate relationship with customers at the new “slightly more upscale” taproom.

“The new taproom provides a more quaint environment, and will be operated by one of the brewers almost 100 percent of the time, so it’s a good opportunity to talk beer,” he said.

He said the opening tap lineup will include many customer favorites.

Grand Reopening festivities begin at 4 p.m. Friday at 1609 E. 58th Ave., Unit G. For more information, call 720-295-9374 or visit their web site.
